Jutland Expedition 2001

Expedition 3

Dansk Danish version

No Limits Diving did not participate in the second and third Jutland 2001 expedition. We did however support the teams with marks for new Jutland wrecks and in order to get the entire picture of the 2001 expeditions, we have chosen to bring a brief resumé.

With two successfull trips done, expectations for this the thirds and last expedition in the 2001, was very high. Weather decided to change this and the first 4 days the crew and the divers waited in Esbjerg for the weather to settle down.

When the break in weather came, only 5 of the 12 divers were still onboard the "Loyal Watcher" who headed north for diving the "Invincible". Arriving at the site the entire wreck had been nettet by a local trawler boat. The trawler provided the team with a possible mark for the "Defence" and the team proceeded further north to investigate the new mark.
The mark was correct and the subsequent dives proved that it was a wreck from the Battle of Jutland. The British ship "Defence" was located and another of the great battle ships had been found !

Finally the team managed to locate and dive the German battleship "Pommern".
